After over five years in the weather business and over a decade working in collegiate and professional media, this self-described “techie,” self-starter, and problem solver is shifting to a rewarding career. I dived into tech in high school by building desktop PCs. At my previous job, I performed tasks outside my main job titles by creating technical procedures, assisting management with tracking and making recommendations for news-gathering equipment, and helping remediate minor workstation and mobile device issues.
I earned my Google IT Support Certificate in August 2022 where I learned skills and concepts through instruction and hands-on labs in topics such as networking, customer service, system administration, and operating systems such as Linux. I am a recent recipient of the CompTIA A+ certification as well as Certified in Cybersecurity from (ISC)².
I recently started my first job in the industry as an IT Support Specialist where I look forward learning and advancing in my new career.
